For Buwembo Ronald and Buwembo Prossy, Namutamba Health Center III in Uganda is more than a place to receive medical care. It is a trusted source of support for their family and a healthcare facility they believe makes a meaningful difference in their community.

Although the couple lives some distance from the clinic, they continue to make the journey because of the quality of care they have received over the years.

“Of all the hospitals we’ve visited, that is the one place we’ve gotten proper treatment,” they shared.

For Ronald and Prossy, that trust comes from more than medical services alone. They describe a facility where patients are treated with dignity, where staff take time to provide the care people need, and where essential services are available at an affordable price.

Care That Makes a Difference

Namutamba Health Center offers a range of services, including laboratory testing, maternity care, family planning, cervical cancer screening, and treatment for common illnesses. The couple particularly appreciates the clinic's cleanliness and its access to water, which they note is not available at the nearest government health center.

For families deciding where to seek care, these practical differences matter.

Prossy also spoke warmly about the maternity services, describing the care provided by the midwives, nurses, and doctors. She recalled witnessing a delivery at the facility and said the experience was positive.

“They do their job and they are very good at it,” she said of the healthcare team.

However, she also recognized the challenges the staff face, noting that there are relatively few healthcare workers and that additional staffing is needed.

Her observations reflect both the value of the clinic and the ongoing demands placed on the people who serve its patients.

Treatment With Love and Respect

For Ronald and Prossy, the clinic's greatest strength may be the way its staff treat people during difficult moments.

One of their most personal examples came from a prolonged experience with malaria. For approximately five months, Ronald said, he continued returning to the hospital for treatment.

Despite his repeated visits, he never felt unwelcome.

“They never got fed up with me,” he recalled. “They continued to treat me with love and respect.”

That is why the couple continues to trust Namutamba Health Center. Good healthcare is not only about having the right tests, medications, or equipment. It is also about being treated with patience and compassion when you need care the most.

A Community Worth Investing In

Stories like Ronald and Prossy's show why sustained support for local healthcare facilities matters. A well-supported clinic can become a trusted resource for families, providing essential services and compassionate care close to the communities it serves.

Through its support of partner clinics like Namutamba Health Center, Healing: Global helps strengthen access to healthcare for people who depend on these facilities.

For Ronald and Prossy, the value of Namutamba is personal. It is a place their family trusts, a place where they have experienced care and respect, and a place they believe serves its community well.

Their story is a reminder that investing in healthcare means investing in people—and in the relationships that help families feel safe seeking the care they need.
